You're not big boned!

Confession time... I've lied to myself and to many of you when I'd say that I love myself the way I am. God made me "big boned" so that's just who I am and I accept it... what a lie. I wasn't born "big-boned" and was actually one of the tiniest and skinniest kids growing up.

The truth is, there is no such thing as being "big-boned". It's a total myth. I did it to myself. I ate. I didn't exercise. I chose to watch television shows while sitting on the couch eating potato chips instead of watching television shows while working out on my bike or on the treadmill sipping on water.

Saying I was simply "big-boned" was just a LIE!

It was simply an EXCUSE!

I went on a campaign for the longest time about loving your body where you're at but inside I was hurting physically and emotionally to be smaller- to be the size that truly was hiding behind the ever increasing layers of fat. I hated shopping for clothes. I'd have to shop in plus-sized shops attached to regular sized clothing shops. I hated paying twice as much for the size 20+ blouse compared to the exact same blouse in a size 16. I hated old ladies telling me "Dear, you are certainly not a D-cup in your bra. Let's try something a bit larger." I hated everything about it but I'd smile and lie to myself "I look good and I love my body. I'm just big-boned and there's nothing I can do about it."

THAT was the lie! It took me to wake up one day and finally say I've had enough! I'm tired of spending so much money on larger sized clothes, of not feeling comfortable in airline seats, of hating being in front of cameras ("I'm just shy" was my other favorite lie). I wasn't "big-boned"... I was fat and thank goodness I decided to put an end to that lie!

There's no such thing as being "big-boned". It's just a an excuse for being lazy, overweight, and out of shape. The only way to become less "big-boned" is to get off our butts, move more, eat less crappy food, and put good- REALLY GOOD NUTRITION into our bodies. Once I started doing this, somehow my "bones shrunk"... It didn't happen overnight and it's still a work in progress. But what a joy it is to no longer hide behind a lie. Now I feel good- not because I'm telling myself to love all my curves because this is how I was made but because I'm able to enjoy all that life has to offer now!

I've had people tell me that it's expensive to put good food and nutrition into your body. The truth is, are you ready?.... It's even MORE EXPENSIVE not to! Seriously! Think of it. Climbing insurance premiums (if insurance companies are even willing to cover you!), medical expenses from all sorts of conditions resulting from being "big-boned", the cost of plus-sized clothing, or having to buy 2 seats or having to pay a premium for wider seats to be somewhat comfortable on a plane... things won't get better, it will keep getting more and more expensive the longer you wait to dispel your own lies about being "big-boned".

The choice is your's. You can chose to remain stuck in the lie that you love yourself as a "big-boned" person (honesty and truly, do you REALLY love yourself 100% of the time being "big-boned"?) or you can make the decision to do something about it. What I do and what I help people do works and I'm thrilled each time one more person realizes there simply must be more to life and that they want to be around to see many more birthdays. I help people get more of what they want in their life and less of what they don't want. It's not complicated but it does mean saying: "I am not big-boned. I'm fat and I'm tired of it. I'm ready to change."
